Welcome to Frugal Fridays!
Today we are featuring a recipe that will help that ground beef stretch just a little bit further. You can make burgers, of course, but you can also make simple hamburger steaks and leave the bread in the bag.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup warm water (from the tap)
1/3 cup dry oatmeal of bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 or 2 cloves of minced garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl. Use your hands to mix all of the ingredients together. Shape the hamburger mixture into patties. This recipe will make four large patties or six small ones. Cook the patties on medium heat on top of the stove. Brown each side, turn the heat down to medium low and cover with a skillet. Let the burgers cook at least 10 minutes.
Serve with your favorite hamburger toppings!
